Fermented Soy

Each serving of Your Flora contains 10 million beneficial species of bacteria, including friendly Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. Research suggests that fermented soy is one of the best foods for nurturing a healthy and diverse gut microbiome, thanks to its unique balance of peptides, polyphenols and signalling compounds. We use a special extended kefir-kombucha fermentation to develop the valuable, active compounds and deepen their therapeutic effects. For extra benefits, we also source the very best organic non-GMO soybeans and sprout them for four days prior to fermentation.

Meet the herb

Baobab trees are native to Africa and grow in dry, arid regions, particularly in countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal, and South Africa. They grow to an impressive 30 metres tall and can live for thousands of years. The leaves are often dried and powdered to make a nutritious porridge or sauce. The fruit has a naturally sweet taste, making it appealing to children.

Bananas are believed to have originated in the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, spreading to many other tropical and subtropical regions around the world. They are one of today’s most widely consumed fruits, offering a range of nutrients, sugars, resistant starch and prebiotic fibre.

History

The Baobab tree is considered an important emblem in traditional medicines throughout Africa and India, dating back 4000 years. The tree is sometimes called ‘magic tree’, ‘chemist tree’, or “symbol of the earth’ due to its key role in the livelihood of rural communities. The bark, leaves, roots, and fruit pulp are used to treat a wide range of ailments, including fever, diarrhoea,

Benefits

Baobab is considered a superfruit and a rich source of various nutrients. Preliminary research indicates that baobab fruit may help regulate blood sugar levels and improve the glycemic response to certain foods. The high soluble fibre content of baobab has been studied for its prebiotic potential to improve digestive function and gut microbiome composition.

Bananas are a good source of dietary fiber called pectin, which can promote digestive health and feelings of fullness. Pectin is a type of soluble fibre, which can improve intestinal motility and have prebiotic effects, supporting the gut microbiome. Bananas are an excellent source of natural sugars as well as vitamins and minerals.
