Garlic has been used for centuries in both cooking and traditional medicine and revered for its potent protective and antimicrobial properties.

Oregano is a herb from the mint, or Lamiaceae family. People have used it for thousands of years to add flavour to dishes and to treat health conditions.

Thyme is an herb with a distinct smell. The flowers, leaves, and oil are commonly used to flavour foods and are also used as medicine.

Clove is a tree native to Indonesia. Its dried flower buds are a popular spice and are also used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.

Throughout ancient history, garlic was widely used for its health and medicinal properties. There is documented evidence of its use by many major civilisations including the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans.

The Greeks and Romans linked oregano to joy and happiness. It has been used traditionally to support digestive health, immunity and overall wellbeing.

Thyme has been used for many centuries for culinary, and medicinal properties. In the first century AD, thyme was used mainly as a medicinal plant, which was mentioned in Dioscorides’ work (1).

Clove originated in the Maluku islands in Indonesia but was popular in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is considered to be anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial (2).
